Ok, so I know it’s been a really long time since I’ve been on this site, or posted anything. Things have been extremely busy, and I tend to be the one that updates this, so, I’m really sorry. So I guess I need to inform everyone of all the changes that have been going on with the Statons.
Well, first off, Drew officially has a new car. I know, I know, we couldn’t keep the Cavalier but for so long. I was just really sad to see her go. Especially to auction, since she was a gift from my parents for my 16th birthday. But I guess out with the old and in with the new. Everyone knows how repairs go and when it turns into you’re putting more repairs into a car that you could just put towards a car payment then well you know. Anywho it is a black Nissan Versa hatchback which he loves and thinks is pretty. I on the other hand am not big on hatchbacks, but I like what he likes and it is his first new vehicle, so I am happy that he is happy.
We also purchased a new bed, we’ve been sleeping on a full forever and decided to upgrade.
I am very happy for the upgrades and am excited about the next ones once we have enough saved up.
Ok, so it’s not all about purchasing new items. I also have another proud announcement to make. Drew found out that he made staff sergeant select today. Okay, so for the non-military people I will explain that it is a pretty big deal and means a promotion to a higher rank. I’m extremely proud of his accomplishment and look forward to the many more that I’m sure he will have in the future. He tends to be a “realist” and not like to count his chickens before they hatch, but I’m the type that sees the glass as half full and know someone with extreme potential, knowledge, and dedication when I see it.
Onto other news, my grandmother, mom, and pregnant sister will all be flying to Las Vegas next week for a visit so it should be fun and there should be lots of pictures. I’ll try and keep everyone up to date and update the pictures as soon as possible.

I know you are wondering about this title. Well, let me begin that I was at work yesterday and received a phone call from my husband letting me know that he was on a team to go into the mountains because of something that happened with an airplane. He told me that he would be gone possibly 1-2 days and he would take his cell phone, but didn’t know if he would have reception. So, I go through the day going about work and finally, it comes time for me to go home. I went to my first weightwatchers meeting and then went home and proceeded to watch a movie and work on a craft project. The whole time I was in my house I was thinking about how much I missed Drew. I missed talking to him, him hugging me when I get home from work, going on walks, going to the gym together. I called my friend and told her I was going stir crazy in my own house. I find myself pathetic that he’s only been gone 1 day and I miss him this much. I know, pathetic, I’m a military wife and should do better than this, but I think we all know we miss the one’s we love when they’re gone.

Ok, so I officially find Drew’s humor helarious. Yesterday I asked Drew to purchase a water bottle for me, because my weight watchers jug was leaking. On orders from the wife he went to the store to purchase a water bottle. He called me at work and told me he found a really good water bottle, black and silver in color. I told him that was fine. Upon arriving home I found the water bottle and this is what I saw. Can I just say helarious.

Ok, so I’ve officially kept you up to date. My next new plan is to lose a lot of weight, I know, people say I’m fine where I am, but I want to feel healthy and look healthy too. I have a weight loss buddy through dwlz.com whose name is Kate. Really nice girl, hopefully we’ll be able to keep each other on track. Here’s my ticker to keep track. Keep up.

Hello world….ok so I know that most of you don’t know much about my husband. For those of you who do you might understand this. I love him to death he is lovable, caring, sweet and funny. Well one day we were laying by the pool and lathering on sun screen to make sure we didn’t get burned and he happened to miss everything but the middle of his chest. Needless to say it made for a very funny picture.

Ok so for those of you who don’t know a whole bunch of my friends I have a really close friend named Naomi, but I call her Nay Nay. Well, she comes over during the week and we have dinner, go to the gym, hang out and such. It’s funny because as women we are always concerned with our weight. Well last night we were having a discussion on weight and I was telling her stuff I had read about online. An area of concern for her is her stomach, but she hates to do situps. I told her that I read online that if you keep a diary of what you eat you’re more likely to lose weight, to which she responded, “I keep a diary of everything I eat in my head, now tell me you read something online about how to lose my Kangaroo pooch.” I’m sorry that cracked me up and I had to share.

I know….I’ve been caught red handed by the blogging police, Stephanie and Zack. They both told me that it has been a really long time since I had written anything so here it goes. So what’s the news going on with Drew and I? Well a lot has happened in a month’s time span. I graduated from paralegal school and am now officially a paralegal…..wooo hooooo!!!! I was able to negotiate a substantial raise at my job and I am extremely happy. For my accomplishment, my husband gave me a Nintendo DS!! I know I’m a big kid. I now only have 1 more degree to go, law school, the big kahuna. What else?
Oh yes, Drew and I went to a Tim McGraw concert in Vegas it was tons of fun….I’m not a big fan of Tim McGraw, but it was awesome and a great time. No pictures from that though because they were very strict on cameras…no fair, especially since I paid so much for the tickets.
I went to visit my daddy in San Diego for father’s day and visit with my mumma, always a good time. My niece Lily is getting so big from the last time I saw her. I was very surprised to see that she still remembers me.
Most recently, Drew and I went on a trip to San Diego. I officially made him a believer, he loves it. We stayed at a really great hotel with an awesome view, watched fireworks, went to a lot of the museums, and ate really, really well. Actually I think I ate a little too well, maybe gained somewhere in the realm of 2-3 pounds on the trip. Now we’re back in Vegas which we both hate, I MISS THE WATER!!! No really, we miss green, cool, weather/land. But we’re having the best time together.
Now that we’re back in Vegas, I am trying to eat better. Lets just say I’m trying to lose weight and bring sexy back. I think that since I have gotten married I have officially gotten fat and happy. There’s nothing wrong with being happy or married, I’m just not enjoying the getting chubby part. Well people I hope everyone’s else’s lives are glorious right now. Keep you up to date because we’re going to Virginia this week to visit the familia.
Just call us the traveling bees for now.

Ok, so some of you may wonder what the title of this blog is about. Well can I just tell you that I have been in the most intense paralegal course for the past four months. I have done nothing but go to work, school, do school work, occasional hanging out with friends, and that’s about it. I know it sounds oh so exciting, but really not, just really hard work kicking my butt every day. But I will tell you that throughout the course of this class I have learned many important lessons which I want to share with you. 1) Always make time for what is truly important. Without the family and friends we have we wouldn’t be who we are. Also don’t wait till the last minute to do things because you won’t always have someone to bail you out. 2) True friends and family care about you and care if you have an important event in your life going on. They will call you anyway, even if they sometimes feel neglected. The ones that don’t call, shouldn’t be friends and you shouldn’t pay attention to them anyway. 3) Always follow your goals and dreams and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do anything. 4) Never let anyone lead you away from your goals because it may take a long time to get back. I know many people who know me and know what I’m talking about when I write this. I had a certain person in my life lead me away from what was really important and it took me a long time to get back to where I needed to be. Ok so those are the lessons I wanted to share with everyone.
Now that I am back and done with my class I will be blogging on a more regular basis, so be sure to keep up with Drew and I on our crazy adventures. I’m officially coming up for air.
One story I will share with everyone is the pool story. Well, Drew and I decided to go to the pool last weekend and we all know that Las Vegas is like hell on earth. The temperature was probably about 105 and we were smart people and brought sunscreen (or so I thought). I get the SPF 50 because I always seem to burn. Well, Drew and I lathered up and laid by the pool relaxing having a good ole time. We were probably there about 2 hours and went home. Later on that day, Drew discovered that he didn’t put sunscreen on his whole body and had a perfect circle of white in the middle of his chest and everything around it was bright red. Probably the funniest sight I have ever seen (definitely made me think of the 40 year old virgin movie). I laughed so hard. I had to beg him let me take a picture, but he finally agreed and said only one so I could post it on our website. Hope ya’ll enjoy once I get it up.

Ok, so true to my word…trying to update this page every week and get some pics on here for ya’ll so it’s a bit more interesting. Well Drew and I are doing good. We played our first night of softball together on Friday and it was tons of fun. It’s a co-ed team and the name is Hot Dogs and Donuts….go figure…lol! Well we lost both games which sort of stinks but we were playing a really good team. Drew is not that bad surprisingly…but he kind of hits like a girl…no….not trying to bring him down….he’s just not a power hitter…but he is fast like a puma. I was really proud because there was one play where he slid to second base and I thought he was safe, but the ump called him out…how not fair. He got a little injury in the process, but I’ll be the first to tell you that any good ballplayer gets injuries.
Anywho still doing the same old things working, going to school, hanging out with Drew. By the way, we went to see Sex and the City last night and I think that Drew and I give it two thumbs up to anyone who wants to see it. Funny, witty, and girly.
Well I think that’s it for today. Give us a shout out.
There are links to our pics on the right. I’m still updating, slowly but surely.
